Mark Tobenkin is a controls engineer who is currently employed at Zitara. Prior to their current position, they worked as a staff software engineer at Waymo from January 2021 to June 2022. Mark also held the position of staff software engineer at Cruise from January 2020 to December 2020. From June 2017 to December 2019, they worked as a senior software engineer at Cruise. Prior to that, they worked as a control systems engineer at Makani from January 2014 to December 2016, where they authored control, estimation, and simulation software for a large autonomous power-generating kite. Mark also interned at Joby Energy from June 2009 to August 2009.

Mark Tobenkin received their PhD in Systems, Communication, Control and Signal Processing from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mark also holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from MIT.
