Shelby Kimball began their professional career in 2013 as a Sports Correspondent for KTXT The Raider 88.1. Shelby then volunteered as a Student Volunteer for Double T insider before interning as an Observation Intern at Fox 34 News. In 2014, they worked as a News/Sports Intern at KAMC-TV/KLBK-TV. Following that, they interned at ABC News in 2015. In the same year, they joined NFL Digital Media as a Producer/Editor, where they were responsible for creating highlight packages and ensuring timely availability of breaking news videos. In 2016, Shelby returned to ABC News as a Desk Assistant and a Producer until 2017. From 2017 to 2021, they served as the Digital Assignment Manager/Producer at KVUE Media Group. Currently, they are a Senior Account Executive at Zeno Group, a position they started in 2021.

Shelby Kimball attended Texas Tech University from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism. In March 2021, they also completed two additional certifications: "Data Fluency: Exploring and Describing Data" and "Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing," both obtained through LinkedIn.
