Chance Harrison has work experience as a Security Engineer at Yubico since June 2021. Prior to that, from August 2020 to May 2021, they worked as a Software Vulnerability Analyst at the University of Nevada, Reno, where they collaborated with a team of student workers to conduct grey-box security testing on various software. Chance also prepared monthly reports documenting the testing process, results, and analysis. From August 2019 to December 2020, Chance served as a Resident Assistant and Academic Mentor for the Honors Residential Scholars Living Learning Community, where they facilitated programming, engaged with residents, and maintained a safe and welcoming community.
Chance Harrison began their education in 2016 at Western Nevada College, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies in 2018. They then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno from 2018 to 2021. During this time, from 2019 to 2021, they also obtained an Undergraduate Certificate in Applied Cybersecurity (ACS) from the SANS Technology Institute.
In terms of additional certifications, Chance Harrison achieved the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) in May 2020, followed by the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) in September 2020. They also obtained the National Cyber League Spring 2020 Individual Game certification in May 2020. Additionally, they acquired the GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) certification in March 2021. All of these certifications were obtained from their respective institutions - Cyber Skyline and GIAC Certifications.
