Prior to their law firm positions, Emma worked as a Wissenschaftlerin at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, focusing on areas such as Grundrechte, staatliche Überwachung, Datenschutz, and Global Constitutionalism within the Kompetenznetzwerk für das Recht der Zivilen Sicherheit in Europa (KORSE).
