Ian Welburn is an experienced professional in safety engineering and project management, currently serving as the Group Safety Engineering Manager at Yorkshire Water since March 2015. In this role, Ian is responsible for strategic management of safety engineering and overseeing process safety performance and risk evaluation metrics. Previously, Ian held the position of Process Safety Technical Manager at Yorkshire Water, focusing on investigation projects and providing technical support on process safety. Ian has also worked as a Senior Project Manager, a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Tata Steel, and a Mechanical Project Engineer at Corus, among other roles. Ian earned an MSc in Surface Design & Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a BEng(Hons) in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Sheffield.
