Russell Davidson

Russell Davidson is a Solicitor who specialises in commercial real estate work.

He graduated from Oxford University where he chaired the university law society, and was awarded a Harmsworth Exhibition by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. After 11 years practicing in the City of London he returned to his native Yorkshire, working in Leeds where he helped establish the West Yorkshire professional firms group of Business in the Community. Russell later set up and grew his own law firm before merging it with another practice.

Russell has extensive experience in acquiring, refurbishing and disposing of properties for investment and owner occupation, including the funding, site assembly and construction of new development. He also advises on joint ventures, land-backed securities, landlord and tenant issues and option arrangements.

Russell chairs Harrogate's Royal Hall Restoration Trust, set up to protect and restore the Royal Hall, a grade II* listed building which was once threatened with demolition despite being England's last remaining 'Kursaal' concert hall. He also served on the board of Harrogate's White Rose Theatre. His previous appointments include governor of Harrogate Grammar School; board member and chair of the finance committee of Bradford & Northern Housing Association and governor of the SportsAid foundation.
