Jan Angilella has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Jan started as a Staff Writer at Gannett Newspapers - The Chillicothe Gazette in 1987, where they covered police and Ross County beats and received two Associated Press awards. Jan then moved on to work as a Staff Writer at Sarasota Herald-Tribune from 1989 to 1995.

In 1997, Jan joined Newsweek as a Media Relations Manager, Senior Publicist, and Corporate Communications Associate Director. Jan secured high-profile media placements for correspondents and built solid relationships with news producers and talent bookers. Additionally, they set up a long-standing weekly guest spot for four Newsweek top editors on "Imus in the Morning" on MSNBC and maintained regular bookings of correspondents on primetime news programs during wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Jan's next career move was to the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati in 2012, where they held multiple roles including Wellness Director, Communications Manager, Fitness Trainer, and Membership Experience. Jan created regular features on Facebook, successfully placed a television spot for a fundraising event, and currently works in membership experience and group fitness.

Starting from 2016, Jan worked as a Freelance Journalist and Communications, Journalism, and Italian Language Consultant. As a freelance journalist, they contributed to the National Italian American Foundation's "Ambassador" magazine and wrote for the Cincinnati news site Soapboxmedia.com. Additionally, their professional working knowledge of Italian enabled their to translate text on the Italian Language School Saena Iulia website and conduct interviews in Italy.

Jan Angilella has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. In 2014, they completed a Social Media Marketing Course from IT University Online. In 1995 and 1996, Jan attended Universita' di Bologna where they pursued Corsi Singoli in International Relations and Affairs. In 2012, they enrolled at the Cincinnati State Institute for Social Media to study Social Media Marketing, however, it is unclear if they completed a degree at this institution.
