Smita Krishnaswamy is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in research and teaching. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Yale University since July 2021, Smita previously held the position of Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine from August 2015 to March 2022, where contributions were made to the Department of Genetics and the Department of Computer Science. Prior to this, Smita worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University from August 2010 to July 2015, focusing on computational and systems biology. Earlier in the career, Smita gained valuable experience at IBM as an Academic Visitor/Consultant specializing in logic synthesis and at Synplicity as an intern in logic synthesis and verification. Smita holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering and has dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Kalamazoo College.
