Jan Smit serves as the Vice President at XPS Industry Relevant Solutions since April 2024. Prior to this role, Jan held multiple positions at Sherritt International Corporation from July 2015 to April 2024, including Director of Technology Innovation and Research Consultant. Jan also worked as Gerente de Tecnologia at Ecometales Limited and as Head of Technology at Anglo Research, where responsibilities encompassed technology management, project execution, and technology strategy within the mineral processing sector. Earlier experience includes roles as Senior Met Superintendent at Foskor Ltd. and Senior Metallurgist at Anglo American Research Laboratories, focusing on extractive metallurgy and mineral processing R&D. Jan holds a Master's degree in Mining Engineering with a specialization in Extractive Metallurgy and Minerals Processing from Delft University of Technology.
