Olya Irzak is the Founder and CEO of Frost Methane Labs, a company dedicated to transforming waste methane from unregulated sources into profitable solutions while benefiting landowners, particularly in collaboration with livestock farmers and former coal mines. In addition to leading Frost Methane, Olya holds positions as a Board Member at Terraformation Inc. and an Unreasonable Fellow at Unreasonable Group. Olya serves on the Brain Trust for Climate & Energy at XPRIZE and is involved with StartX as part of the 2020 cohort. Previous experiences include advising Strong Atomics, working as a System Architect at Off.Grid:Electric, and contributing to early-stage climate change projects at X, the moonshot factory. Olya spent time at Google as a Tech Lead in Google Energy, focusing on smart grid prototypes, and served as a lecturer at the University of Toronto. Olya's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and a Master's degree from the University of Toronto, alongside studies at EPFL.
