Dan Smith has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Dan is currently serving as a School Board Member for the Newmarket NH School District since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Vice President of Gas Supply at Xpress Natural Gas starting from March 2014. From March 2015 to March 2021, they served as a Municipal Budget Committee Member for the Town of Newmarket, NH. Before that, they worked as the Director of Natural Gas Operations & Business Analysis at Sprague Energy Corp. from June 2003 to February 2014. Additionally, they held the role of Manager of Pricing at AllEnergy Gas & Electric Marketing Co LLC from November 1997 to May 2003 and began their career as a Research Associate at Tellus Institute from June 1994 to November 1997.

Dan Smith completed their secondary education at Auburn High School from 1986 to 1990. Dan then pursued a degree in Physics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1990 to 1994 and successfully completed their SB degree in Physics.
