Shamir started their career at CNL Hotels & Resorts in 2006 as an Analyst in Asset Management, where they worked with a portfolio of luxury and upper upscale hotels and resorts. In 2007, they transitioned to Tishman Hotel Corporation as an Asset Management Analyst, responsible for various real estate operations. From 2010 to 2012, Shamir worked at CNL Financial Group as a Senior Analyst in Corporate & Debt Finance, gaining insights into global real estate and alternative investments. In 2012, they joined Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc., initially as a Manager in Investments and progressing to positions of increasing responsibility, including Director, Vice President, and currently serving as Senior Vice President in charge of Investments. At Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc., Shamir specializes in investing in luxury and upper upscale hotels and resorts in the US. Their expertise spans various roles and they have contributed to the growth and success of the organizations they have worked with.
From 2004 to 2007, Shamir Kanji attended the University of Central Florida, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Hospitality Administration/Management.
