Alexander Fortman, PE, is a Licensed Professional Engineer and currently serves as a Principal Engineer at Xcel Energy. With a background in power plant operations and maintenance, they previously held roles including Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer within Xcel Energy’s Steam & Combustion Turbine Fleet Engineering. Fortman began their career as a Staff Engineer at Sherburne County Generating Station, focusing on the reliable operation of steam turbine-generators, and has managed various plant reliability projects throughout their career. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of St. Thomas.
