Meng Yu Zhu's work experience begins in 2014 with an internship at Vihi Realty Company. In 2015, they worked as a Marketing Intern at JEVS Human Services and as an Optical Assistant at Designer Eyes, where they provided optical services and performed administrative duties. In 2016, Meng worked as a Research Assistant Co-op at Drexel University, conducting research on plasma interaction with living systems. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Clinical Research Assistant Co-op at Thomas Jefferson University. In 2019, Meng held the role of Associate Engineer Co-op at Design Science Consulting Inc., where they conducted usability research in the healthcare field. Their most recent position, starting in 2020, is at WuXi Advanced Therapies, where they have held roles as a Laboratory Technician III in Virus Production and currently as an Associate Scientist in Tech Transfer.

Meng Yu Zhu attended Central High School from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a High School Diploma. They then went on to pursue their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University from 2015 to 2020. During this time, they also obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical Engineering from the same institution. In September 2020, Meng Yu Zhu obtained a certification in "Understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)" from LinkedIn.
