Maya Avendano has experience working as a Biologist for WRA, Inc. starting in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo as a Research Assistant, where they inventoried a population of Chorro Creek Bog Thistle and as a Teaching Assistant from August 2021 to June 2022. Maya also worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the university, where they developed a protocol and conducted analyses for a narrative literature review in the field of ecological restoration of soil biology. Maya also has experience as a Plant Nursery Associate at Farm Supply Company from August 2020 to September 2021 and as a Horticultural Assistant at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from September 2019 to March 2020.
Maya Avendano attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2018 to 2022. Maya earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Management and Protection during this time. After completing their degree, Maya obtained a certification in Basic Wetland Delineation from the Wetland Training Institute, Inc. in May 2023.
