Perla Douven, PhD, currently serves as a Business Intelligence Consultant at Wortell since February 2023. Previously, Perla held the position of PhD Candidate at the School for Mental Health and Neuroscience at Universiteit Maastricht from August 2017 to June 2022, focusing on clinical and pre-clinical research in sacral neuromodulation for lower urinary tract and bowel dysfunction. This research culminated in the dissertation titled "Improving Sacral Neuromodulation for Lower Urinary Tract and Bowel Dysfunction: A Translational and Multidisciplinary Approach." Additional experience includes roles at Universitair Ziekenhuis Antwerpen, Aarhus University, gezondheidscentrum Honné, ETH Zurich, and the Academic Medical Center (AMC), where skills in experimental design, quantitative research, project management, and various imaging techniques were developed. Perla holds a PhD in Translational Neuroscience from Maastricht University and has an MSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Amsterdam, complemented by a BSc in Bewegingswetenschappen from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
