Heikka Valja is an experienced educator and professional in the fields of game art and digital education, currently serving as a Lecturer in Game Art and Game Programme Lead at Helsinki Vocational College since September 2016. Valja has also been a Lecturer at Aalto University since March 2009, specializing in Digital Art & Illustration, Graphic Design, Game Education, and Online Learning. As a Doctoral Candidate at Aalto University, Valja focuses on game and game art education. Additionally, Valja holds the position of 3D Digital Game Art Expert with WorldSkills International and leads a consultancy named Hei-kan, which offers services in illustration, graphic design, and game design. Other notable experiences include roles as an Art Director for Kubo Finland, Creative Director for AHNE art festival, and various positions in game design and education across multiple organizations. Valja's academic credentials include a Doctor of Arts from Aalto University, complemented by a Master of Arts in Visual Culture Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education.
