Sameen Siddiqi serves as the Chair of the Department of Community Health Sciences at Aga Khan University since January 2018 and has held the position of Director of Health System Development at the World Health Organization since December 2010, overseeing health system development initiatives in 22 countries within the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Siddiqi previously worked with the World Health Organization in various capacities, including Head of the Country Office in Lebanon and Coordinator for Health System Development. Siddiqi's experience also includes serving as a Senior Health Specialist at the World Bank, providing technical assistance to the Government of Pakistan. Additionally, Siddiqi has held roles at the German Agency for Technical Cooperation and the Ministry of Health in Pakistan, alongside academic positions at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from the Institute of Tropical Hygiene, a Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Fellowship in Internal Medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
