Paolo Lucchino has a strong background in data science and economics. Paolo has worked as a Lead Data Scientist at the World Food Programme since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Data Science Mentor at Springboard, where they mentored students on various data science topics. Paolo has also held positions as a Senior Data Scientist at Primer.ai and GetYourGuide, where they led projects and contributed to business decision-making using data analytics. Additionally, they worked as a Lecturer in Data Science at BPP and as a Data Science Consultant at Sonder Inc. In earlier roles, Paolo served as a Staff Economist & Data Scientist at Premise Data, a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), an Economist at HM Treasury, and an Economist at HM Revenue & Customs. Throughout their career, Paolo has demonstrated expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and program management.
Paolo Lucchino began their education at St. Stephen's School, where they completed the International Baccalaureate program. Paolo then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Social Anthropology from SOAS University of London in 2004. In 2007, Paolo pursued a Master of Science in Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). After completing their master's degree in 2008, they took a break from formal education before returning to academic pursuits in 2011. Paolo attended Birkbeck, University of London, where they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Mathematics in 2012. Finally, Paolo completed their highest level of education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Economic Geography from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2017.
