Derek Roberts

Global VP of Customer Success Management at Workato

Derek Roberts has extensive work experience in the customer success and strategy field. Derek started their career at Onyx Software in 1998 and held various roles in professional services delivery, project oversight, scoping, and sales until 2003.

In 2003, Derek joined Salesforce as a Manager of Customer Success, where they managed a team responsible for driving value, retention, expansion, and viral marketing for a territory of several hundred customers. Derek played a key role in Dreamforce customer conference processes.

Derek then took on roles of increasing responsibility at Salesforce, including Director of Customer Success East, Director of Customer Success for Flagship (Enterprise) Customers, Program Director for CRM Showcase, and Director of CFL Strategy and Operations. In these roles, Derek led integrated customer success and support teams, oversaw custom platform applications, and managed and negotiated contracts ranging from $100K to several million dollars.

In 2013, Derek joined HubSpot as the Post Sales CofS & Strategy and Operations Leader. Derek held this role until 2020 when they joined Workato as the Vice President of Global Customer Success Management.

Derek Roberts attended Cardinal Spellman, a school for which the exact duration is unknown. Following that, they studied at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. During their time at the university, they focused on concentrations in Computer Science and Education.
