Luis E. is a seasoned professional in the field of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as Senior HSE Advisor at Woodside Energy since September 2022, Luis E. leads the Regulatory/Policy strategy for New Energy initiatives following the merger of BHP’s oil and gas portfolio with Woodside. Prior to this role, Luis E. held various positions at BHP, including Managing Principal HSE for the Trion field in Mexico, where Luis supported exploration and appraisal phases, and Principal HSE for Continuous Improvement, focusing on performance evaluations and regulatory compliance. Additional experience includes supervisory roles at BHP Billiton Petroleum, where leadership efforts improved safety culture across assets, as well as a Health and Safety Site Lead position at BP. Luis E. holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from Texas A&M Health Science Center.
