Fola Adeleke serves as the Executive Director at the Global Center on AI Governance since January 2024 and holds a position as a Visiting Associate Professor at Wits Law School since April 2014, focusing on research in privacy and data protection, responsible AI use, and corporate accountability. Previous experience includes roles as Data Privacy Manager at CGI and Access to Information & Privacy Advisor at Nova Scotia Health, where Fola implemented privacy strategies for the largest public institution in Nova Scotia. Additional positions include Head of Research at the Human Rights Commission and fellowships at Harvard Law School and Columbia Center for Sustainable Investment, where Fola developed investment regulation frameworks. Fola's educational background includes a PhD in International Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and advanced law degrees from the University of Cape Town.
