Matt Stevens serves as the Chair of the M&A Practice at Winston & Strawn LLP, a position held since April 2017, and operates as a Partner specializing in M&A and Private Equity. With extensive experience as a veteran M&A attorney, Matt represents both public companies and private equity clients in a variety of strategic M&A transactions and corporate matters. Prior to this role, Matt was Vice President and Associate Counsel for Mergers & Acquisitions at Dover Corporation from November 2013 to March 2017 and held associate positions at Sidley Austin LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Matt began their professional career in the United States Navy, serving as a Lieutenant from 2001 to 2005. Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from Boston College Law School.
