Kate Venugopal is an International Marketing Sustainability Specialist at the Wine Institute since 2022. Previously, Kate served as Communications Manager at the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance from January 2017 to January 2020, where responsibilities included promoting sustainable winegrowing through education and outreach. From November 2012 to January 2017, Kate held the position of Environmental Affairs Coordinator at the Wine Institute, focusing on sustainable winegrowing practices and industry engagement. As a co-founder and partner at Farm 255 from 2005 to 2013, Kate promoted local, seasonal, and sustainable food sourcing. Additionally, Kate worked as a Consultant for environmental projects in California in 2012 and was a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Congressman Mike Thompson from 2009 to 2012. Kate holds a BSA in Horticulture with a focus on Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Georgia, earned in 2005.
