Alex Sas is a seasoned professional in the viticulture field with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Currently serving as the Senior RD&E Program Manager at Wine Australia since August 2019 and as a Board Member for the Phylloxera and Grape Industry Board of SA since July 2019, Alex has held significant roles in various organizations. Previously, Alex was the Chief Viticulturist at Accolade Wines from March 2007 to August 2019 and worked as a Regional Viticulturist at BRL Hardy Limited from 1999 to 2007. Additionally, Alex gained valuable viticulture experience at The Australian Wine Research Institute and CSIRO between 1994 and 1999, with a joint position at both institutes. Early career positions included Viticulture Adviser at the Department of Agriculture, Western Australia, and Research Officer for Table Grapes. Alex holds an Honors degree in Agricultural Science from The University of Western Australia, completed in 1988.
