George Orthopoulos is a minimally invasive and bariatric surgeon who serves as the medical director of bariatric surgery at Winchester Hospital since 2023. Previously, they held a similar role at Baystate Health from 2019 to 2023 while also serving as an assistant professor at both Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts. George completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at UMass Chan Medical School and has undergone extensive training in general surgery through residency programs at Tufts University and Boston University. They earned both an MD and a PhD in Immunology from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
