Emily Wallington

Emily Wallington has a diverse work experience in the media and travel industry. Emily started their career in 1998 as a Production Co-ordinator and Researcher at the BBC. Emily then worked as a Development Researcher at RDF Media and Brook Lapping Productions.

In 2001, Emily returned to RDF Media as a Development Researcher and later became an Assistant Producer, working on a lifestyle/factual chat show for Channel 4. Emily also worked as an Assistant Producer at Brook Lapping Productions, where they assisted with research and post-production on an HD film for Animal Planet.

In 2003, Emily continued their role as an Assistant Producer at RDF Media and took on additional responsibilities as a Series Producer at ORTV/ National Geographic. Emily managed pre-production, researched stories, and found contributors for various projects.

From 2012 to 2014, Emily worked at SABC as the Head of Genre: Factual Programming. In this role, they developed strategies for factual content across multiple channels, managed a team of producers, and presented at road shows to solicit new content.

In 2016, Emily co-founded WildEarth, where they drove the digital and television content strategy. Emily acted as a Series Producer for the National Geographic series Safari Live and Producer for Earth Live.

Currently, Emily is working as an Africa Travel Designer at Jacada Travel.

Emily Wallington attended Rugby School from 1992 to 1994, where they pursued A-levels in Politics, Economics, and Geography. Following their time at Rugby School, they enrolled at Newcastle University from 1995 to 1998. There, they completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, specializing in the field of Law.
