Carmela DeLuca is a partner at Bereskin & Parr LLP since September 2006, specializing in patent matters, including portfolio management, patent application preparation, and infringement analysis in the biotech and life sciences sectors. In addition to patent law, Carmela has served as the emeritus founding co-chair and treasurer, as well as co-chair for the WIB Montreal Chapter since 2012, and held a board member position at Meal Exchange from September 2007 to May 2011. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Toronto, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo. Prior research experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Toronto and Amgen Research Institute, focusing on cancer signaling pathways.
