Richard Martin

Richard Martin has a diverse work experience, showcasing their expertise in education, arts, and architecture. Richard currently holds the position of Director of Education & Public Programmes at the Whitechapel Gallery. Prior to this, they worked as a freelance arts writer, where they authored a book and contributed to various publications. Richard also served as a Tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and as a Curator of Public Programmes at Tate, overseeing the development and commissioning of events. Additionally, they held teaching positions at King's College London, Middlesex University, and Birkbeck, University of London. Richard started their career as a Public Affairs Advisor at CABE, where they were responsible for policy work and design programs.

Richard Martin holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from Birkbeck, University of London, which they obtained from 2007 to 2012. Prior to this, they completed their MA in English: Issues in Modern Culture at UCL from 2003 to 2004. Richard also has a BA in English and American Studies from The University of Manchester, which they earned from 2000 to 2003.
