Travis Durgan, EIT, has a diverse work experience in engineering and mentorship roles. Travis started their career as an Engineering Intern at Newkirk Electric Associates, Inc. in 2016. In the following year, Travis worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Michigan Technological University. Travis then interned at the Great Lakes Research Center as a US Navy STEM Intern in 2018. Travis gained further engineering experience as an Electrical Engineering Intern II at POWER Engineers in 2019. Currently, they work as an Electrical Staff Engineer at Westwood Professional Services, where they contribute to various projects related to power, energy, and infrastructure development. Travis is also passionate about mentorship, having served as a Mentor at MOKA, promoting skill-building, goal orientation, independence, and community volunteering for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, they have experience as an Audio Technician at Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts, specializing in front-of-house engineering for events.
Travis Durgan, EIT completed their education with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University from 2015 to 2019. During their time at Michigan Technological University, they focused on power-related subjects and also pursued a minor in International Spanish. In 2017, Travis attended Universidad del Norte where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Prior to their time at Michigan Technological University, from 2014 to 2015, Travis studied Pre-Engineering General Study at Muskegon Community College. Travis'searliest educational experience was at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in 2012 and 2013, where they completed the Master Recording Program II with a specialization in Audio Engineering.
