Charl Young is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in software engineering and data analytics, currently serving as VP of Software Engineering and Data Analytics at WestRock Company since February 2011. Prior roles at WestRock include Sr. Director of Engineering and Technology Lead, as well as Sr. Director of Data Engineering. Prior to WestRock, Charl held various leadership positions at Kaplan from June 2002 to February 2011, including Director of Technology and Development. Early career experience includes roles at HomeChoice, Old Mutual South Africa, AngloGold Ashanti, and ESKOM, spanning from 1995 to 2002. Charl holds a degree in Information Technology and Computer Science from the University of South Africa and has pursued additional education in Scrum and Six Sigma methodologies.
