Jessica Hobbs

Planning Commissioner

Jessica Hobbs currently serves as the Grants Administrator and Economic Development Liaison for the City of Romulus, Michigan, since August 2024, where responsibilities include managing grant applications and supporting economic development initiatives. Additionally, Jessica holds a position as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Westland and has experience as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan, teaching Sociology with a focus on health. Previous roles include an internship with the Downtown Detroit Partnership and a variety of positions at the University of Michigan, such as Events and Communications Coordinator and Graphic Designer. Jessica launched Hobbs and Habit Design, a design firm, and has held significant roles within the U.S. Department of State. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in City/Urban Planning and a Real Estate Certificate from the University of Michigan, alongside a Bachelor's degree in History and Sustainability.
