Polly Radosh

Trustee Polly Radosh retired from Western Illinois University in 2008 after 24 years on the faculty, where she was a professor of sociology and founding chair of the Department of Women’s Studies. Dr. Radosh was the recipient of multiple awards and honors at WIU, including four faculty excellence awards, the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Teaching Award, the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Service Award, the College of Arts and Sciences Excellence in Multicultural Teaching Award, the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Multicultural Teaching, and she was named the 2007 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer. While at WIU, Dr. Radosh published 19 scholarly articles, and two books (with co-author Brendan Maguire), and presented 35 scholarly papers. Her research topics included women in the Irish diaspora, midwifery, and gender and race in crime and corrections.

After retiring from WIU, Dr. Radosh was the Dean of the College at the State University of New York at Geneseo from 2008-2011. In that position, she supervised the registrar, campus advising, disability support services, curriculum review and implementation, summer session, scholarships, and course scheduling.
