Nancey Lawes is the Vice President of Finance at Western Governors University since October 2018, responsible for directing financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting across the WGU system. Nancey leads decision support for business units, develops actionable metrics, and collaborates closely with the President and CFO on long-term financial projections and strategic planning. Previous roles at WGU include Senior Director of Finance and Director of Finance, where management of finance teams and support of the Academic Executive Team were key responsibilities. Prior to WGU, Nancey spent over 13 years at Rio Tinto in various finance roles, including Senior Advisor in Planning & Budget Control. Nancey holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a B.A.Sc. in Finance, along with an A.A. in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
