Benjamin Shannon-Alferes is an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician currently affiliated with West Hills Hospital and Medical Center and Grapefruit Testing since August 2021. Prior to this role, Benjamin completed a medical residency at Penn State Health from July 2018 to August 2021 and contributed as an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Tutor at Scribes STAT in 2012. Early volunteer experiences include supporting patients at OHSU's Doernbecher Children's Hospital, assisting at Camp Goodtimes West with the American Cancer Society, and delivering meals through the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Benjamin holds a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (2014-2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Washington (2006-2011). Additionally, Benjamin is a graduate of Lincoln High School's International Baccalaureate program.
