Matthew Hurles serves as Director, Group Leader, and Head of Human Genetics at the Wellcome Sanger Institute since September 2003. Additionally, Matthew has been a Non Executive Director at Congenica since October 2014. Prior to these roles, Matthew was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge, from October 1999 to August 2003. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Population Genetics from the University of Leicester and a Master of Arts (MA) in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
