Maria Garcia-Casado is a highly experienced research professional with a strong background in cell biology and environmental science. Currently serving as a Research Assistant at the Wellcome Sanger Institute since May 2019, Maria is involved in high throughput drug screening and CRISPR screenings to advance cancer therapy research. Prior experience at Syngenta includes roles as a Cell Biology Specialist and Senior Doubled Haploid Technician, where Maria contributed significantly to barley and wheat production for breeding programs. Additional roles have included environmental technician positions focused on pest control and waste management, and quality control in a pharmaceutical setting. Maria holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Universidad de Málaga.
