Benjamin Sherman

Machine Learning Engineer at Weights & Biases

Benjamin Sherman has a wealth of experience in the field of machine learning and deep learning. Benjamin began their career as a Tutor at the University of California, Santa Cruz - Jack Baskin School of Engineering in 2015. In 2016, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they developed a novel graph matching algorithm for analyzing chemical data and designed and implemented a graphical interface. From 2017 to 2019, Sherman was a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at the same university. During their time as a Graduate Student Researcher, they designed and implemented a suite of applications to automate protein data analysis, which was more than 100 times faster than the previous state-of-the-art on standard benchmarks. Benjamin also presented at the National Science Foundation TRIPODS conference. In 2019, Sherman became a Deep Learning Intern in Ads AI at Samsung Electronics America. Currently, they are a Machine Learning Engineer at Weights & Biases.

Benjamin Sherman attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Following this, they returned to the same university and obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science in 2019.
