Kate Barrett has extensive work experience in the field of design. Kate currently works at WeaveGrid as the Lead Product Designer. Prior to that, they worked at UKG as the Lead User Experience Designer from September 2020 to December 2021, where they focused on designing software experiences for people at work. Before joining UKG, they were a Senior User Experience Designer at Ultimate Software from October 2016 to September 2020, specifically working on their UltiPro Perception product.
Earlier in their career, Kate held various roles at Kanjoya, Inc. Kate served as the Director of Product Design from March 2015 to September 2016, where they led the product design team and focused on building enterprise software for HR organizations. Kate was also the Lead Designer for two products at Kanjoya, Experience Project and Perception, from February 2014 to March 2015. Additionally, they served as a Senior Design Manager from February 2012 to January 2014 and as a UI Designer from March 2010 to January 2012.
Before joining Kanjoya, Kate worked at j.logan design as a Senior Graphic Designer from January 2007 to December 2008, where they specialized in food & beverage packaging, brand development, and custom illustration. Kate also held the position of Graphic Designer from December 2005 to December 2006.
Kate Barrett attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art & Design. Additionally, they received certifications in "Intro to Human-Centered Design" from Acumen in November 2020 and in "Mobile UX Design Intensive Certificate" from San Francisco State University in November 2013.
