Chema Alonso serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica Innovación Digital, overseeing innovation and digital products within Telefónica Group since November 2023. In addition, Alonso has held various leadership roles at Telefónica since May 2016, including Chief Digital Officer and Chief Data Officer, where responsibilities span innovation, data strategy, and digital transformation. Alonso is also a member of several advisory councils, including the Cybersecurity Advisory Council of Telefónica, and chairs the board of Wayra, which fosters open innovation and startup investments. With a rich academic background, including a PhD in Computer and Information Sciences, Chema Alonso has contributed significantly to the fields of information security and digital transformation through various educational and professional initiatives.
