Cormac McCarthy is an experienced professional in environmental management and sustainability, currently serving as the Climate & Sustainability Manager and Environment, Heritage & Climate Leader at Waterways Ireland since July 2004. In this role, Cormac has effectively developed and implemented the Waterways Ireland Heritage Plan through collaborative partnerships, leading national consultations and facilitating stakeholder workshops. Prior experience includes serving as a Fisheries Environment Officer at Inland Fisheries Ireland from November 2002 to July 2004, where responsibilities included monitoring river ecosystems in the Greater Dublin Area, and working as an IPC Coordinator at Pfizer from November 2000 to November 2002, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Cormac holds a 1:1 Honours Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Galway, earned between 1996 and 2000.
