Melissa Cowburn is an accomplished educational leader and consultant with extensive experience in guidance counseling, teaching, and project management. As the Founder of Navigator Academic Consulting since July 2023, Melissa collaborates with students and families to navigate academic challenges. Currently serving as the Department Head of Guidance at Waterloo Region District School Board, Melissa empowers a team of four counselors while overseeing various initiatives aimed at inclusivity and student well-being. With a background as a Business Studies Teacher and experience in roles such as Project Director and Instructor across multiple educational institutions, Melissa leverages an equity-focused approach to improve student outcomes. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Education from The University of Western Ontario and an Honors Business Administration degree from Ivey Business School at Western University.
