Farris Matar is an experienced engineer with a focus on electrical and hardware systems in the robotics and aerospace sectors. Currently serving as an Electrical Team Senior Member at the Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group, Farris contributes to drone development for competitions. Previous roles include a Hardware Engineering Intern at Kepler Communications Inc., where Farris designed a custom analog circuit and developed PCB acceptance tests, and an Electronics Engineering Co-op at StarFish Medical, revising medical device PCBs. As an Electrical Team Lead for the University of Waterloo Robotics Design Team, Farris managed the electrical system for a Mars Rover project. Farris holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo, expected in 2025.
