Miriam Hacker is a dedicated research professional with extensive experience in water research and environmental social sciences. Currently serving as a Research Program Manager at The Water Research Foundation since November 2022, Miriam has previously held key roles, including Project Lead for the Data Science for Social Good Program at the University of Washington eScience Institute and Senior Research Implementation Lead at The Water Center at Penn. With a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, along with a strong academic background including multiple advanced degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Miriam has contributed to significant projects such as refugee housing in Lebanon. Proficient in qualitative analysis and institutional theory, Miriam has also interned with the United Nations OCHA and has a practical background in engineering and planning from previous positions in both local government and private sectors. Currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University, Miriam continues to enhance expertise in public service and policy.
