Nate Bailey is a seasoned transportation professional currently serving as the Manager of Strategic Initiatives at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority since August 2022. Prior to this role, Nate held the position of Senior Operations Research Analyst at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from August 2014 to May 2022, contributing to significant research in urban mobility and dynamic ridesharing systems, alongside extensive experience in traffic simulation and optimization. Nate's earlier research work included analysis of vehicle data at the California Center for Innovative Transportation, enhancing data visualization tools, and publishing findings in reports for the California Department of Transportation. Nate holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Transportation from MIT, complemented by a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley.
