Jonathan Parker, PE, AICP, serves as the Planning Program Manager for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) since June 2012, focusing on areas such as planning project management, fare and service planning, strategic planning, bus priority, rail capacity studies, and policy development. Previously, Jonathan held roles at WMATA as Capital Program Manager, where capital needs were forecasted at $22.5 billion over ten years, and as Senior Planner, managing projects related to transit corridor expansion and Metrorail capacity. Prior experience includes working as a Transportation Planner at Triangle Transit and the North Carolina Department of Transportation, specializing in travel demand forecasting and comprehensive transportation planning. Jonathan began a career in design engineering with various firms, contributing to transportation project design and environmental planning. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering - Transportation from North Carolina State University.
