Jean-Briac Perrette

President & CEO, Global Streaming & Interactive at Warner Bros. Discovery

As President & CEO, Discovery Networks International JB Perrette’s focus is on leading strategic growth across all major international markets outside of the US.

Joining Discovery in 2011 as Chief Digital Officer JB set about introducing best-in-class technology platforms to position the company at the forefront of digital media. By refocusing and reinforcing Discovery’s position as the number one non-fiction video company across all screens, JB quadrupled the size of its online video business.

Under his tenure, Discovery took full ownership of Eurosport – the number-one sports destination in Europe, and negotiated a ground-breaking agreement with the IOC to become the home of the Olympic Games across Europe through 2024.

In Latin America, Discovery Networks dominates the pay-TV landscape, with the largest number of networks in the Top 20. Across Asia, Discovery is consistently ranked as the #1 international channel and TLC as the #1 lifestyle channel.

JB has aggressively focused Discovery on providing new digital services, notably direct-to-consumer products such as Eurosport Player, the streaming service that delivers premium and exclusive content across screens for sports fans in Europe, as well as delivering the first Eurosport VR app. Away from sports, direct-to-consumer products like Dplay have further delivered against Discovery’s strategy to make its premium content available to more people and across more screens and services. JB has committed Discovery to numerous strategic priorities, helping to establish a pivot towards digital platforms with a mobile-first audience.

Before joining Discovery, JB spent 11 years with NBC Universal where he helped launch new digital channels Sleuth (now Cloo), Chiller and Universal HD. He also played a key role in developing the industry-leading digital venture Hulu (joint venture between NBC, Fox and Disney). In addition, JB also served on the boards of Hulu, A&E Television Networks and the Sundance Channel.
