Dean Hamilton is currently an independent non-executive director at The Warehouse Group. Prior to that, they were a director at Skyline Enterprises from July 2019 to June 2021. Prior to that, they were with Auckland Airport. Before that, they were with Tappenden Holdings.
Dean has also held the position of chief executive at Fulton Hogan and Silver Fern Farms Ltd. Dean was with Silver Fern Farms from October 2014 to March 2018. During their time there, they oversaw a significant transformation of the company, including the development of a strategic 2020 plan, a reduction in net working capital, the sale or wind-down of non-core assets, the closure of 7 plants and 2 European sales offices, and the introduction of new equity. Dean also led the expansion of the company's value-added strategy, with branded FMCG launches in Germany and the USA, and strong growth in branded product sales to food service customers in China. In addition, they oversaw an organisational and leadership team restructuring, including the creation of new roles such as CFO, GM Sales, GM Marketing, GM People, GM Operations, GM Supply Chain, GM Food Quality, Environment & Assurance, and Enterprise Program Manager. Dean also helped establish and invest in a sustainability framework and function, and increased investment and improvement in health, safety and wellbeing outcomes. Under their leadership, Silver Fern Farms was voted the 12th most trusted firm in New Zealand in the 2018 Colmar Brunton Corporate Reputation Survey. Dean announced their resignation in 2017 and finished in March 2018.
Dean Hamilton's educational career began with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. From there, they pursued a career in accounting and finance, eventually becoming a certified public accountant.
