Jamila Johnson is a Senior Associate at Walter P Moore, where they work in the Infrastructure Department. Jamila has over fifteen years of experience in commercial land development, having previously worked as a Group Manager/Senior Project Manager for Jacobs/Carter Burges. In this role, they led a team of seventeen direct reports, overseeing various commercial and institutional site development projects.
Ms. Johnson is responsible for all aspects of project management for commercial site developments, including feasibility studies, land acquisition, coordination with architects and subconsultants, preparation of civil construction documents, permits and approvals, and construction support. Jamila has a close working relationship with clients, architects, subconsultants, and approval authorities, and is experienced in managing multiple concurrent projects.
Ms. Johnson developed group operating procedures for design, drafting, quality control, and forecasting while at Jacobs/Carter Burges. Jamila also participated in business development activities. Prior to their work in commercial land development, Ms. Johnson worked for the City of Houston in the Planning and Development Department.
Jamila Johnson has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Houston. Jamila also has certifications from the Texas Floodplain Management Association as a Certified Floodplain Manager and from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers as a Professional Engineer (PE).
