Shannon Sutherland has extensive experience in risk management, project management, and financial analysis. Shannon currently holds the position of Director, Enterprise Risk Management at Walker Industries, where they are responsible for establishing the firmwide Enterprise Risk Management function. Shannon has also served as the Corporate Project Manager, successfully implementing Oracle Cloud across all divisions of Walker Industries. Prior to their current role, Shannon worked as the Director, Business & Risk Management Services at Walker Industries, leading the development of the five-year strategy for the Environmental division and creating standard processes for contract review and assessment. Before joining Walker Industries, Shannon worked at Barclays as the Director of Standards and Governance in Risk and Regulatory Management and at Goldman Sachs as the Executive Director in Divisional Risk Management, Operations. Shannon started their career at Ernst & Young and Republic National Bank as an Internal Auditor and later held roles in inventory control, sales, and marketing. Shannon holds a short intership experience at Niagara College Canada and also worked as a Research Assistant in the Economic Development Office at the City of Welland.
Shannon Sutherland has a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education from Brock University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Western University from 1989 to 1992. In 1994, they acquired a Diploma in International Trade from Niagara College. Shannon completed high school at E.L.Crossley from 1986 to 1989. Additionally, Shannon has obtained several certifications including the Canadian Investment Funds Course from IFSE Institute in May 2015, the Certificate in Investment Administration from Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) in April 2004, and the Canadian Securities Course from Canadian Securities Institute in July 1995.
